Before your students can access the Race Academy modules, your kit must be self-certified. Self-certification is completed by your school's Lead Teacher (Team Principal). To get started complete Module 0 and the self-certification form on the Race Academy platform, whilst using the components list to confirm your kit is complete and correct. Modules stay locked until this is done, so it's one of the very first tasks after logging in.
What self-certification is
Self-certification confirms that your kit has arrived complete and that every component matches the components list. It's your school's declaration that you have everything you need before the build begins, and it's the gate that unlocks the learning modules for your students.
When it needs doing
Self-certification should be completed by within 4 weeks of the kart kit being delivered. Even if you are starting the project later in the year, the self-certification needs to be completed, in order to provide a warranty on the kit.
Who completes it
The Team Principal, the lead teacher registered for your school, is the only account that can complete the self-certification form.
What you'll need
- Your Race Academy login
- The components list, available online, or the hard copy included in your kit
- Access to your kit, unboxed, so you can physically check each component
How to complete self-certification
- Log in to Race Academy and open Module 0.
- Open the self-certification form on your dashboard.
- Work through the components list, checking each item against the contents of your kit. Use either the online list or the hard copy from your kit — they're the same list.
- Complete and submit the form.
Once submitted, your modules will unlock and your students will be able to access the platform (after they've been onboarded — see [Registering your students]).
If something is missing or damaged
You don't need to contact us separately, the self-certification form includes a section for reporting anything that's damaged or incomplete. Note the affected component(s) there as you work through the components list, and our team will arrange replacements. Reporting an issue doesn't hold anything up: your modules still unlock as soon as you submit the form.
What happens next
With self-certification done, you're ready for the other key first-login task: adding your students. Once both are complete, kit certified and students onboarded, your school is ready to begin.
