You don't have to run the programme single-handed. The Manage Teacher area lets you add other teachers and support staff to your school's Race Academy account, control what they can do, and reset their passwords when needed. We recommend setting up your staff team before onboarding students — it mirrors the real order of things: staff in place first, learners loaded in after.
Adding a teacher
- Open School Management from the sidebar.
- Scroll down the page to Teacher Management.
- Add the new teacher's details, including their first name, last name, school email address and password.
- Set their permission level (see below).
They'll receive login details by email and can complete their own profile at first login.
Permission levels
When adding a teacher, you choose what they can do:
- Principal — Just like F1, the Team Principal is in full control. They have full access and can edit Team and School Settings.
- Admin — full access to Teacher Admin, including managing teams students, and assignments. Unable to change school settings or see detailed analytics.
- Team Support — access to student progress and modules, however unable to create assignments.
A sensible pattern: one to 3 Admins per team (including your Team Principal), with additional helpers as Team Support. Fewer Admins means fewer people who can make account-level changes by accident.
Resetting a teacher's password
If a colleague is locked out:
- Open Teacher Management as above and click Update Password.
- Type in the new password and click Update Password.
- Their password will be updated immediately, don’t forget to remind them!
(If you're the one locked out, see [I can't log in].)
Why do this before adding students?
Two reasons. First, it means the colleagues helping you run sessions can see the student roster and progress from day one, rather than being added as an afterthought. Second, if you share the load of onboarding students, the licence counter and roster are visible to everyone doing the work.
