Your Kart at the Event: Scrutineering, Fuel, Transponders and Spares

Scrutineering

From 10am – 1pm:

  • Checks completed in grouped priority of Test Session order.
  • A scrutineer will come to your awning to complete the check.
  • Please have your kart ready for scrutineering in your awning on a stand/trolley (kart off the ground).
  • Please remove the wheels and chain guard before the scrutineer arrives.
  • If any further tasks need completing, the scrutineer will direct you to the relevant team of staff.

Fuel fill · Oil fill · Fuel/oil drain

Kart fuel/oil/chain lube, from 10am – 1pm:

  • Completed in grouped priority of Test Session order.
  • A member of staff will come to your awning to fill your engine.
  • They will measure out the required quantity of oil for a student to add into the engine.
  • They will request a student to collect a pre-filled fuel container/funnel from the building next to the assembly area and add it to the kart's fuel tank, then return the fuel container/funnel.
  • They will provide the chain lube for a student to apply to the kart's chain.

Transponders

Timing transponder, from 10am – 1pm:

  • Completed in grouped priority of Test Session order.
  • A member of staff will come to your awning to provide your timing transponder.
  • The transponder is fitted with cable ties after the corresponding holes have been drilled in the seat.
  • Timing transponders will be collected in the Parc Fermé area following your Test Session — please ensure you do not leave this area before removing it from your kart.

Spare parts · Repairs

There will be spare parts available on the event days — our supplier, SWRD, will bring a fully stocked van. The location in the paddock of the spares van/area will be communicated ahead of the event days.

If you require additional support with mechanical tasks, an additional support team will be available, on a first come first served basis. The location of this team in the paddock will be communicated ahead of the event days.

Kart recovery

If a kart breaks down during a race session, our on track support team will do their best to recover the kart to a place from which it can be returned to the paddock, using one of the track support kart trolleys on offer — these must be returned to their original position as soon as possible.
